More Strips Completed

So we had a road trip of 1850 miles over the Thanksgiving weekend, so I got a lot of knitting done. 1 long strip, and 3 short strips left (if I am remembering correctly). Right now I am getting ready to Beta Test a new class offering so the SSK is on hold for a bit, but I am sure that I will have it done before Jan 1! Keep an eye out for pictures of some of the strips. I am really please thus far and I think everyone else will be too!

3 Strips Complete

I haven't had a chance to get pictures yet, but I have three strips complete for the Kimono. And so far I am very pleased. Between a road trip over Thanksgiving and a flight over Christmas, I am pretty sure that I will have the sample completed prior to the official launch date. I worked on the strips during my most recent trip back east to Baltimore for Stitches East and I have to say that it makes great "travel" knitting. I will try and get some pictures in the next few days so you can get a hint of what is to come!

The Selected Yarn!

So I had to choose the yarn I was going to use for the SSK and it was a difficult choice. I had decided that I would work with one of Louet Sales yarns and these were the two I was selecting from. The one on the left (Gems) is 100% wool and WONDERFULLY soft. The mustard yarn on the right (Merlin) is 70% wool / 30% linen blend. It is not quite as soft, but based on my other experiences with linen, I expect it to become wonderful.

I have been working on the first strips in the Gems (my selection) and I am VERY happy with the result. I was asked today to see the finished garment, but it is still in process. I expect to have it completed prior to the "official" beginning of the knit-a-long. Keep watching for glimpses along the way!
