Welcome to the Knit-A-Long

Welcome to Knitability's first knit-a-long!! The Sample Stitch Kimono is a great project for trying out different textural stitch patterns while creating a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. All participants are invited to share their progress on this blog and I am personally looking forward to see each of the garments come together.

The Sample Stitch Kimono (SSK) Knit-A-Long is a one year project with a new technique being explored each month. All techniques will be methods of creating texture in your knitting. Each month, 2 - 3 different stitch patterns will be provided to the participants. The participants then make their selection and create a strip that will be joined with other strips to create a unique customized kimono style jacket.

The official launch of the SSK knit-a-long is January 2007, but join now to receive your introductory package and get started selecting your yarn. For more information or to order your introductory package, hop over to the Knitability website. In addition to the blog, we have also set up a Yahoo group specifically for questions and answers as the project progresses. The Yahoo group will be monitored by Gwen Bortner (your host) to help ensure success for all participants. Come join us!
