Welcome to the Knit-A-Long

Welcome to Knitability's first knit-a-long!! The Sample Stitch Kimono is a great project for trying out different textural stitch patterns while creating a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. All participants are invited to share their progress on this blog and I am personally looking forward to see each of the garments come together.

The Sample Stitch Kimono (SSK) Knit-A-Long is a one year project with a new technique being explored each month. All techniques will be methods of creating texture in your knitting. Each month, 2 - 3 different stitch patterns will be provided to the participants. The participants then make their selection and create a strip that will be joined with other strips to create a unique customized kimono style jacket.

The official launch of the SSK knit-a-long is January 2007, but join now to receive your introductory package and get started selecting your yarn. In addition to the blog, we have also set up a Yahoo group specifically for questions and answers as the project progresses.
